1. If possible, and if safe, do not move any vehicle from the
scene. Call the police.
2. Call 911 for the police, and, if necessary, for an ambulance.
3. Exchange basic information with all drivers involved; including
, but not limited to name, address, phone number, driver's license
number, license plate number.
4. Obtain names, addresses and home and work phone numbers of
all witnesses.
5. Respond politely, completely and honestly to the investigating
officer as to each and every question posed. Do not guess or
exaggerate.

6. Once a report has been prepared, review it very carefully
to determine if it is accurate. If it is incorrect, immediately
advise the officer and ask for a supplemental report.
7. Immediately report the accident to your insurance company.
8. Do not give a statement to the other insurance company, their
agents or investigators without your attorney present.
9. Preserve evidence as soon as possible. For example, take
pictures of any vehicle involved in the accident and take pictures
of your injuries.
10. Consult with an attorney. The first meeting is free. There
is no obligation to hire the attorney.
